DDBB Penetration

Can you hunt with an air rifle?

If you think air devices and rifles have not enough ballistic penetration when used at the right distance, let's just look at these pictures where our DDBB (DrillDog Big Bore) Pellets fiercely hit at 25 yards, with strength and violence against a 55 gallons drum through its metallic wall(s).

You can see how the DrillDog Big Bore Pellets, of different sizes and lengths, penetrate through the metal using the Benjamin Bulldog and Sam Yang Seneca Recluse caliber .357 air rifles without any difficulty; as if they were going through a wall of butter.

Look at these entry holes on the inside of the drum. There is no pity or excuses, but real time concrete results.

Here we have an entry hole after shooting our DrillDog  Big Bore Pellet R-Flat Nose 162 gr. It is bigger than my thumb finger. This is in its prime form, without us making a hollow-point in the nose, for which we could use our DDBB Hollowpoint Maker Jig. But when you see the exit 'wound' then you realize that from its original .357 cal. this flat nose made a striking opening the size of over a .60 cal. shot, at least.

Here a picture after going through both walls of the drum; in other words, two metal plates; like if any bone could match their amazing hitting power just using air as its propulsion method. It is a knock blow, a real big bang.

First, on the top of the picture, the final exit hole using our DrillDog Big Bore Pellet Round Nose .357 cal. 164 gr. Second, at the bottom, the exit hole using our DrillDog Big Bore Pellet R-Flat Nose 162 gr. Look at those holes; they are at minimum more than twice the size of a .357 caliber, and do not forget, after passing through the two sides of the drum....Remarkable energy at relatively close distances!

This DDBB 95 grains .357 caliber slug expanded to .407 caliber after been shot with great accuracy from 40 yards, with 290 bar-pressure in the rifle at 953 fps (191.63 fpe)... Not bad at that speed! It expanded without converting it into a hollow-point to keep its weight. We recommend not to hunt with an air rifle beyond 50, max 60 yards; despite the edited videos that newcomers to the sport watch in Youtube channels, shooting at live-breathing targets over a 100 yards. Be responsible, get a firearm if you want to do that!
